He founded St. Peter’s School for boys in New Zealand. My brother attended that school but Arthur would not take me on in 1942. He said I was too much of a tomboy already! He retired but then taught music a St. Chad’s cathedral school in Lichfield where I modelled his portrait. When it was shown at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 1972 he would sit beside it telling people what it was like being modelled!
I was so impressed with Obama's two autobiographies that I modelled this in 2010 from photographs. Unfortunately I never managed to show it to him although I tried to do that.
She made her name as a wonderful TV actress. Playing Holly in the Forsyth Saga and the lead of Isobel in the Portrait of a Lady. Everybody fell for her. I now count her and her Director husband Richard Thomas as very best friends.
Edward Alleyn was a well regarded actor manager in the 17th century. He bought the estate of Dulwich in 1609 and founded a small school that has now become the famous Dulwich College and other schools. There is a copy of this at the College.
